In tonight’s edition: Racism row in South Africa; protests in Kenya; and political tension in DR Congo.
Racial prejudice raises its ugly head once again in South Africa with another furore sparked by online comments. This time a high court judge is accused of saying rape is part of black culture.
Also, elections in Kenya may be a year away but tensions are already rising. Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga heads up a protest in Nairobi demanding reform of the electoral commission. His backers say it’s corrupt.
And in DR Congo, opposition leader and presidential hopeful Moise Katumbi is questioned for several hours in Lubumbashi over accusations that he hired mercenaries in a plot against the state. He denies this, saying he’s being harassed.
